"Half Cocked Lodge treats you like family from the moment you arrive. Incredible dogs, great habitat, and the meals alone are worth the trip."

Planning Your Trip
What to Expect
Hunting Season
South Dakota pheasant season runs from mid-October through the end of January. Peak hunting typically occurs in October and November when bird populations are at their highest.
Group Size
We accommodate groups of all sizes — from small parties of 2–4 hunters to large corporate groups of 20+. Every package can be customized to fit your group's needs.
Licenses & Regulations
Hunters are responsible for obtaining a valid South Dakota non-resident hunting license and pheasant habitat stamp. We're happy to point you in the right direction if you need assistance.
Your Dogs Welcome
Want to bring your own bird dogs? No problem. Our heated kennels provide a comfortable stay for your four-legged hunting partners.
What to Bring
Bring your shotgun, ammunition, blaze orange, hunting license, and weather-appropriate clothing. A full packing checklist will be provided before your trip.
